SHAKTI KIRTAN
A DIWALI CELEBRATION

Join us for an evening of devotional chanting as we celebrate Diwali, the festival of light, and raise funds for the Arunachala Animal Sanctuary.

📅 Sunday 8th November
⏰ 7pm
📍 The Ashram, 27 Tower Rd, Mt Eliza

Kirtan is a traditional call-and-response chanting practice of Bhakti Yoga.

The thing about singing and chanting, is that it works even if you don’t believe in it. Studies show that chanting in groups significantly reduces stress by lowering cortisol levels, stimulating both hemispheres of the brain and activating the vagus nerve.

As we chant together, the mind settles, the heart opens, and we remember the light that lives within each of us. What better way to honour Diwali?

No experience or singing ability needed. Children are very welcome, so bring the whole family. 🧡

"Chanting opens the heart and makes love flow within us."

🐾 Donation based, with all proceeds supporting the Arunachala Animal Shelter

Come light up the night with some ecstatic kirtan. 🙏✨

Founded by Leslie Robinson, a dear friend of Swami Shankarananda, the sanctuary rescues and cares for sick, injured and stray animals in Tiruvannamalai, at the foot of the sacred mountain Arunachala in South India.

With a 24/7 emergency service, clinic, hospital and hospice, their team treats not only dogs but cows, goats, cats, birds and more, all free of charge.

Since 2007 they’ve sterilised nearly 10,000 dogs and found homes for more than 1,700 animals, guided by Leslie’s belief that animals heal most deeply when they feel safe and loved. 🧡
