shiva yoga

The goal of hatha yoga is for the mind to rest in the inner Self.

While mainstream yoga in the West can hyperfocus on asana and the body, our classes offer a deeper connection to the true essence of the practice.

Not only will you love your body through strong or gentle movement, you will also pay attention to your inner world of thought and feeling. Working with the mind and emotions through asana, guided pranayama, meditation, and yogic philosophy, each class will leave you feeling a greater sense of connection with your inner Self.

The inner Self lives within every person as the clear space of good feeling, and through the practice of yoga we can access and live in this space more and more.

Yoga at the ashram will guide you to this place within and heal the body along the way.

Pre & Post Natal Yoga

taught by Julia Brahmani

Yoga for Mums-to-Be is a supportive, informative and practical yoga class that helps empower women physically, mentally and emotionally for their birthing experience and beyond.

After the birth, Post-Natal yoga is a great way for mums to get together and enhance their recovery.  Classes include gentle stretches and postures to rebuild core strength.

Both classes include a guided relaxation component to help women process the many emotions and concerns that can arise during pregnancy and motherhood.

Meditative Movement

taught by Yogini Rabia

This yoga class is for people who love gentle flowing movements, a guided practice, breath work and meditation.

Folks can engage with the practice in the traditional style of yoga, on a mat or through the generous support of a chair.

We will approach the body with gentleness, ease and exquisite care as we explore the shapes yoga offers us.

The class opens with a guided meditation then moves into meditative movements and closes with another guided meditation.
